Grant Competition Is Announced Within the Framework of the Small Grants Scheme "Preservation of Cultural Heritage" and "Cultural Exchange"

Ministry of Culture (MoC) announces an open grant competition within the framework of the Small Grants Scheme "Preservation of Cultural Heritage" and "Cultural Exchange" of the Programme 2009-2014 "Preservation and Restoration of Cultural and Natural Heritage" of the European Economic Area’s financial instrument.

The purpose of the Grants Scheme "Preservation of Cultural Heritage" is restoration and preservation of cultural heritage objects, facilitating the development and diversification of their form of economic activity, promoting economic activity in corresponding territories. For the co-funding can apply state institutions (not commercial companies) in the ownership, possession or usage of which there is an architectural monument, as well as municipalities, municipal institutions or other derived public persons (not commercial companies) in the ownership of which there is an architectural monument.

Co-funding of the Programme is 1 287 928 euros. Available co-funding of the Programme for one project is from 50 000 euros to 250 000 euros. Deadline for the submission of grant applications is from 16 September 2013 to 6 December 2013.

However, the purpose of the Grants Scheme "Cultural Exchange" is development of cooperation in the field of culture between providers of cultural services in donor countries and in Latvia, facilitating the international movement of the works of culture and art, services and products. For the co-funding of the Programme can apply state cultural institutions, municipalities and municipal institutions (not commercial companies) as well as societies and foundations having culture as the field of their basic activity. Within the framework of the Grants Scheme, the attraction of a project partner from Norway, Lichtenstein or Iceland is a mandatory condition for the implementation of the project.

Co-funding of the Programme is 589 929 euros. Available co-funding of the Programme for one project is from 25 000 euros to 100 000 euros. Deadline for the submission of grant applications is from 16 September 2013 to 20 December 2013. 

In order to inform potential applicants for grants within the framework of the Grants Scheme "Preservation of Cultural Heritage", the MoC organises an informative seminar on October 22 at 13.00 p.m. in the EU House. However, in order to inform potential applicants for grants within the framework of the Grants Scheme "Cultural Exchange", an informative seminar is scheduled on October 23 at 13.00 p.m.
